Happy Canada Day Canadian Hockey Moms!
I was out for a my daily walk this morning, before most people were awake (that's when I can avoid the mosquitoes), and before the hustle bustle that’s about to hit my town for Canada Day.
I got thinking about what a great country we live in, and thought I’d share my top 16 reasons I'm grateful for Canada. Here they are, in no particular order.
All four seasons (hockey all year round!)
Public education for all regardless of gender
Accessible healthcare
Our ethnic diversity
The abundance of food (and ethnic diversity in food)
We are a peace -loving nation – absence of war
Great hockey teams and great hockey moments (Think Summit Series, and 2010 Olympic Gold for Men and Women)
Frozen lakes and ponds = pond hockey!
Our Indigenous people, cultures and traditions
We are a polite people
Clean drinking water, and our abundance of freshwater lakes, rivers, and streams
Camping
Equal opportunities for women in the workplace
Plaid
Canadian Beer
Birthplace of Wayne Gretzky
Do any of these resonate for you?
Regardless of why you are grateful for Canada, I hope you and your family enjoy an amazing Canada Day weekend!
