The Hockey IntelliGym Improves “Hockey Sense”

Dec 11, 2012 by

If I told you that there is a training tool to develop “hockey sense” that was originally developed to train Air-Force fighter pilots, would you believe me? And what if I told you that really is true, and it’s actually pretty cool?

I was recently contacted by representatives of The Hockey IntelliGym about this software-based training tool originally developed to train Air-Force fighter pilots, yielding a 30% improvement in performance. Based on this technology, The Hockey IntelliGym product was then developed to help players develop hockey sense – the perception and decision-making skills necessary to stay one step ahead of the puck and the game.

I was fortunate enough to get a demo of The Hockey IntelliGym (along with my son’s coach, also a Hockey Mom), where we learned about the background research that went in to the development of the program, as well as the technical aspects and requirements. The Hockey IntelliGym is a downloadable software program. It runs on any personal computer with an internet connection. The Hockey IntelliGym employs a video game like interface, and the goal is to integrate the details of the game into a player’s barest attention, so that anticipating plays becomes deeply instinctive. The IntelliGym was built as a workout tool for the mind, and is best suited to hockey players 12 and over. It is currently being used by a variety of elite level players (as well as non-elite players) have used the product such as the Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL, The Concordia Stingers Men’s Varsity squad of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport League.

I was very impressed with The Hockey IntelliGym, and am happy to be able to offer you a 15% discount on The Hockey Intelligym up to the end of 2012 just for using the code HockeyMom2012.
