IMG_0219 (1)I believe strongly in supporting Hockey Families across the country. So when I became aware of Spenserskids.ca, an organization created by a Hockey Dad to keep alive the memory of his son,  I knew I had to share it with you.

Dave McFayden created Spenser’s Kids in the memory of his son who was killed in a tragic head on collision on his way to a hockey game in Orangeville, Ontario. To honour Spenser’s memory, his love for hockey and his compassionate soul, the organization provides kids in unfortunate financial situations the opportunity to play hockey, and to share in the character growth and sense of wellness that playing a team sport provides. In addition to being affiliated with the Orangeville Minor Hockey Association, Spenser’s Kids will be working with the Children’s Aid Society to connect with the kids who will be sponsored in Spenser’s memory.

In order to raise money used to sponsor players and get them in equipment and ready to play, a ball hockey tournament will be held this July 4th at 89 Broadway, ON. How you can help:

Enter a team – the more the merrier, if you are in the area enter a team for a day of fun. Get information HERE.

Set up a booth – there is no cost for booths, but donations are welcome.

Donate Equipment – Spenser’s Kids will take your gently used and new equipment and put it in the hands of children looking to play.

If you have questions or want more information about Spenser’s Kids and/or the Ball Hockey tournament, please contact Dave McFayden at 519-217-6904 or lovecokecola1@gmail.com.
