Happy Canada Day Canadian Hockey Moms!
I was out for a my daily walk this morning, before most people were awake (that’s when I can avoid the mosquitoes), and before the hustle bustle that’s about to hit my town for Canada Day.
I got thinking about what a great country we live in, and thought I’d share my top 16 reasons I’m grateful for Canada. Here they are, in no particular order.
- All four seasons (hockey all year round!)
- Public education for all regardless of gender
- Accessible healthcare
- Our ethnic diversity
- The abundance of food (and ethnic diversity in food)
- We are a peace -loving nation – absence of war
- Great hockey teams and great hockey moments (Think Summit Series, and 2010 Olympic Gold for Men and Women)
- Frozen lakes and ponds = pond hockey!
- Our Indigenous people, cultures and traditions
- We are a polite people
- Clean drinking water, and our abundance of freshwater lakes, rivers, and streams
- Camping
- Equal opportunities for women in the workplace
- Plaid
- Canadian Beer
- Birthplace of Wayne Gretzky
Do any of these resonate for you?
Regardless of why you are grateful for Canada, I hope you and your family enjoy an amazing Canada Day weekend!
